About the Role We are seeking an accomplished Director / Vice President, Healthcare & Life Sciences Strategy to lead the development and execution of our healthcare growth strategy across pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical technology, diagnostics, digital health, genomics, clinical services, clinical research, healthcare infrastructure, and long-term care. This is a senior strategic leadership position responsible for identifying emerging healthcare opportunities, developing partnerships, driving commercial growth, and working with internal and external stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions across the healthcare ecosystem. The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of the UK healthcare and life-sciences environment, combined with experience operating across multiple healthcare disciplines and engaging with senior executives, healthcare providers, investors, regulators, technology companies, and research organisations. Key Responsibilities • Develop and execute the company's pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical strategy, including opportunities across specialty medicines, biologics, vaccines, and advanced therapeutics. • Identify growth opportunities within biotechnology and advanced therapies, including cell and gene therapy, RNA technologies, regenerative medicine, and engineering biology. • Lead strategic initiatives involving medical devices and MedTech, including connected medical technologies, surgical equipment, implants, wearables, and healthcare technology platforms. • Build partnerships and commercial strategies across diagnostics and laboratory services, including molecular diagnostics, pathology, imaging, and in-vitro diagnostics. • Drive the adoption of digital health and HealthTech, including artificial intelligence, telemedicine, remote patient monitoring, electronic health records, and digital healthcare platforms. • Develop opportunities in genomics and precision medicine, supporting personalised healthcare, genomic testing, bioinformatics, and data-driven clinical decision-making. • Work with healthcare providers and senior clinical stakeholders to improve healthcare and clinical services, including hospitals, specialist care, primary care, and private healthcare. • Establish relationships with clinical research organisations, pharmaceutical companies, universities, and research institutions to support clinical trials, drug development, and translational research. • Evaluate opportunities involving healthcare infrastructure and healthcare services, including hospital development, healthcare facilities, medical equipment, procurement, and supply-chain optimisation. • Develop strategic initiatives across mental health, rehabilitation, elderly care, disability services, and long-term care, with a focus on sustainable and patient-centred models. • Monitor healthcare policy, regulation, reimbursement, technology, investment activity, and competitive developments across the UK and international markets. • Identify potential acquisitions, strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and investment opportunities within the healthcare and life-sciences ecosystem. • Represent the organisation at healthcare conferences, industry forums, investor meetings, government engagements, and senior-level stakeholder discussions. • Lead cross-functional teams spanning commercial, clinical, scientific, technology, operations, finance, and regulatory functions. Required Qualifications • Significant senior leadership experience within healthcare or life sciences. • Experience working across multiple healthcare subsectors. • Strong understanding of the UK healthcare and life-sciences ecosystem. • Experience developing commercial strategies, partnerships, or new markets. • Demonstrated ability to work with C-suite executives and senior external stakeholders. • Experience managing complex, cross-functional initiatives. • Strong understanding of healthcare innovation, technology, regulation, and market trends. • Excellent strategic, analytical, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills. • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, life sciences, business, medicine, biotechnology, engineering, or a related discipline. • Typically 10+ years of relevant healthcare, life-sciences, consulting, investment, commercial, or strategic leadership experience. • Demonstrated experience leading high-value partnerships, commercial programmes, transformation initiatives, or market expansion. Desirable Qualifications • Advanced degree such as an MBA, MSc, PharmD, MD, PhD, or equivalent. • Experience operating across international markets.
